Rankings: Warrington 12-19 Hull FC

Never a pleasant task to write up rankings after a loss! Ah well, here goes, read on to find out who I rated highly and lowly from our narrow defeat to Lee Radford's Hull FC side.
1 - Josh Charnley
Was given the Man of the Match award inside the stadium, for his superb defensive work and great effort carrying the ball from his own line. Was unlucky not to have a pair of assists with Murdoch-Masila's try harshly ruled out and Austin not backing himself for the line when Charnley looked to have played him in.

2 - Sitaleki Akauola
Really starting to fall in love with this guy. Terrific work ethic from the bench, and an unbelievable run when he was moved to the wing which was surely the highlight of the day.

3 - Daryl Clark
Allowed the kick-off to bounce which laid the foundation for Hull to equalise, but other than that had a decent game. Not his best, but still one of the best in the squad.

4 - Joe Philbin
Philbin always does well from the bench, and today was no exception. Ran hard and was good tackling-wise.

5 - Blake Austin
A hit-and-miss day for Austin. Assisted the first try with a high kick which wasn't dealt with, and scored the second after a nice jinking run, but also made a few errors in possession and his kicks weren't all that successful. Doesn't help that he's basically a lone half back with the form Patton is in.

6 - Jason Clark
I've not been overly impressed with Clark of late but he had a positive impact on the game when he came on today. One very good tackle in the first half.

7 - Mike Cooper
One of the main things for Hull today was shutting down Cooper's offloads, and they did a sound job of it. He worked hard and was solid in the tackle.

8 - Toby King
Nice try in the corner to continue his good run. Did amazingly well to continue after being absolutely clattered late on.

9 - Jack Hughes
Hughes did alright today. Some decent runs with the ball, and coped well with a move to centre after Atkins' injury.

10 - Stefan Ratchford
Didn't see loads of the ball, but picked the right option when he did. Moved to scrum half for the final part of the game.

11 - Bryson Goodwin
Worked hard on the wing, should've scored a try when he elected to pass rather than back himself. Did well in his short stint at full back.

12 - Chris Hill
Not great from Hill today. Gave away an early penalty for a high tackle and that was about it.

13 - Ben Currie
Probably Currie's worst game of the season. He was hit at for all three of Hull's tries and didn't have the effect on the game you'd usually expect.

14 - Ben Murdoch-Masila
His afternoon started well with a really good driving run and an unfortunate disallowed try, but he was poor from there on in. Ridiculous behaviour at the end to get himself sin-binned.

15 - Ryan Atkins
Didn't do a great deal wrong today, just didn't see much of the ball before going off in the first half through injury. A change at centre is likely next week.

16 - Ben Westwood
I feel disappointed in Westwood today. He hasn't played since the Salford loss, came in today, and was then off after only 22 minutes. Not great really.

17 - Declan Patton
Not even sure what to say. I feel like today was about as bad as it got for Dec. I want him to be good, I really do. But it really isn't happening at the minute. Aside from his poor kicking game and lack of tackling ability, the fact that he was on report for biting today is disgraceful. I think him being taken off with ten minutes left and a whole reshuffle of the team taking place to accommodate this showed how poor he was today.

Let me know your thoughts on these rankings and check out my match report. This week on the blog I'll be building up to Magic Weekend where the Wire take on arch-rivals Wigan.

It's always our year.
