Rankings: Wigan 14-26 Warrington

Wire earned a big win over rivals Wigan and a first victory at Magic Weekend since 2014 with a 14-26 victory. There were a number of good performances, and here is how I ranked the players...

1 - Daryl Clark
Clark once again put in an instrumental performance on Saturday, completing 31 tackles and making up 121 metres from just nine carries - a remarkable average of 13 metres per carry. Clark also set up Austin's try and was terrific in defence as always.

2 - Blake Austin
The magic man was having a fairly quiet evening until he scored his delightful try in the second half, breaking through Wigan's line and stepping his way to four points. This was a game-changing moment and once again it came from Austin, who can turn the dynamic of a game on its head very quickly.

3 - Jake Mamo
This was Mamo's first game since March, his first game at full back for Warrington, and he was very solid. He took every ball out of the sky comfortably, ran well with it, and produced a big moment of defence when he sent Chris Hankinson into touch.

4 - Joe Philbin
This was Philbin's first start since the loss at St Helens in mid-April, and he was excellent. Philbin put a lot of big tackles in and his own carries were big, too. Massive hit on Joe Greenwood early on.

5 - Mike Cooper
Cooper's stats from this game are brilliant - 25 completed tackles and not a single one missed. He averaged eight metres per carry and didn't make one error all game.

6 - Toby King
Three wins against Wigan this year and all three times King has kept Oliver Gildart out of the game. He had a good all-round game which was capped off with a try after racing 65 metres unchallenged to touch down and then celebrate Roberto Firmino style.

7 - Tom Lineham
Lineham's first game since the win over Huddersfield last month was a good one. He brilliantly set up Patton's try with a clever kick and chase, and then a second kick into the path of the scrum half. It was good to have him back out wide as he's always a threat.

8 - Jack Hughes
36 tackles, seven of which were marker tackles, and none missed, is a very good return. Hughes' performance went under the radar in this match, but the dirty side of the game is something Hughes did well with.

9 - Bryson Goodwin
The centre is in fairly good form at the minute, and put in another decent shift here. His highlight was a superb break in the second half which looked like it was heading for a try but was thwarted at the end.

10 - Declan Patton
This was easily Patton's best game of the season. He got on the end of Lineham's kick to score a try, and nailed all seven of his goal attempts - though most were fairly simple ones. He doesn't rank among the top performers because of a horrendous pass in the first half which went straight into touch.

11 - Sitaleki Akauola
Akauola's run of good appearances from the bench continued with a fine stint on Saturday. He helped prevent two scores with big tackles, as well as successfully finding two offloads.

12 - Ben Currie
This was a better performance from Currie than in recent games, making 27 tackles without missing any, and while his carries of the ball didn't produce much, it was a solid showing.

13 - Chris Hill
The captain had a fairly good day overall, not missing a tackle and having several probing carries of the ball, though doesn't rank as highly as some of the other forwards because of a totally unnecessary penalty that he gave away.

 14 - Josh Charnley
Charnley had a hit and miss game at Anfield, the highlight being doing really well to dig out a pass to King which set up his try. He ranks fairly lowly because of a poor knock-on from a high Wigan kick - something that he hasn't been too assured under lately.

15 - Danny Walker
He didn't have long on the pitch, but Walker did fairly well, making 13 tackles and having five carries of the ball which made 38 metres. I'd like to see more of him.

16 - Jason Clark
In my opinion, Clark isn't having enough impact on the game at the minute. He started the season well but in recent matches has seemed a bit of a non-entity.

17 - Ben Murdoch-Masila
I thought this was a disappointing display from the second rower. He somehow lost control of the ball when he looked certain to score, and had very little impact on the game.
