It was another disappointing night in Super League for Warrington as Steve Price's team fell to a sixth successive defeat in the league, leaving the Wire's grip on a playoff place far less strong. Have a read to find out how I ranked the team.
1) Jason Clark
Comfortably the Australian's best performance in a Warrington shirt so far. He was everywhere in terms of defence and was taking a far more involved approach in attack too.
2) Stefan Ratchford
Very solid in defence, some of his last-ditch work prevented the score from being any heavier. Contributed a bit in attack too with some accurate kicks.
3) Danny Walker
Really nice for him to get his first Wire try, and one of his own making too after a neat grubber kick. Struggled a little in the first half but was miles better in the second, and looked bright when he went into the halves.
4) Joe Philbin
Was positive with the ball and looked to create things - had created a gap out wide for Mamo, but unfortunately for Philbin, Mamo was not on the same wavelength. Good carries of the ball and nice to see him starting as a prop.
5) Lama Tasi
Surely his best display for Warrington so far. Some good carries and big hits. All-in-all it was a very dogged and determined performance. We know he is leaving Wire, he is presumably trying to put himself in the shop window for the rest of the league now.
6) Bryson Goodwin
Very solid in defence and wasn't at fault for any of the tries, and contributed to the attack too, showing some good passing play.
7) Daryl Clark
Wasn't on the pitch long but looked to get quick play-the-balls and booming passes from dummy-half away. Bit surprised he didn't start as he ended up playing nearly half of the game.
8) Jake Mamo
It was largely a very solid performance from Mamo with plenty of good kick returns. He made one error which led to a try but other than that he was fine.
9) Ben Westwood
Good stints on the pitch from Westwood, helping to get the team upfield. Hard to see him starting at loose forward though given the form of Jason Clark.
10) Sitaleki Akauola
He can only do short stints, but in the period of time he's on the pitch, can put the big hits in. If he could do bigger minutes he'd be a huge player for us.
11) Harvey Livett
Really looked to make things happen as his good form continues, though always seems to come up short with his end product.
12) Ben Murdoch-Masila
Some good carries and some excellent defending too, though he ranks quite lowly because of some completely needless penalties conceded in the first half.
13) Jack Hughes
Wasn't able to mark Hastings out of the game in the same way he managed to marshal Lomax at Wembley. Had a shaky night overall.
14) Luis Johnson
Really hard to judge him as he was on the pitch for a short time. I rate him though and I was pleased to see him involved in the team again.
15) Luther Burrell
It's early days, but I'm yet to see anything particularly impressive from Burrell yet. He's struggling to have any influence on games and isn't seeing anywhere near enough of the ball.
16) Tom Lineham
A rare shocker for Lineham here, with his errors leading to the first and fourth Salford tries. Clearly tired badly as the game went on.
17) Matty Smith
I'm really struggling with Smith. Very average kicking game and hardly any creative passing, as well as numerous errors with the ball in hand. Have we downgraded on Patton?
