Set of Six: Warrington 20-26 Huddersfield

Wire fell to a second defeat of the season tonight against Ian Watson’s Huddersfield team.

Despite recovering from 0-20 down to get back in the game, the Warrington fans who were in the ground for the first time since March 2020 were not able to see a victory, with Kenny Edwards bagging a late try for the Giants. Here are my six talking points.

1) Team selection
A bizarre team selection to say the least, with Ratchford and King shoved out of position to accommodate Inglis, and Wire all over the show as a result.

2) Greg Inglis
He shouldn't be at full-back, and I'm starting to think he shouldn't be in the team at all. So much better when he went off.

3) Pressure
Yet another big occasion, with the fans back, and yet another terrible performance. File it along with the 2018 Challenge Cup and Grand Finals, the 2019 and 2020 Playoff Games, the 2020 Challenge Cup semi.

4) Structure
Because of the shuffling around of the team, in particular the back line, Wire had no structure in attack. So annoying.

5) Composure
The lack of composure from Wire was staggering. Aside from the bad start, when Wire finally did get in the game, a series of penalties cost them.

6) Watson
Yet another win for Ian Watson over Steve Price. We can add tonight to all of Salford's wins over Wire.
