Team Talk: Castleford Tigers (n)

It’s a big one this weekend as Warrington take on Castleford Tigers in Leigh as the teams do battle in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

Wire will be without Jason Clark, who is going to be unavailable for between four and five weeks, joining Matty Ashton and Greg Inglis in the injury room. Here is my team for the weekend’s game...

Full-Back - 1 Stefan Ratchford
Ratchford has picked up form since returning to full-back and I expect him to stay there for a while now.

Winger - 2 Tom Lineham
The team seemed to carry a bit more threat with Lineham on the wing and his metre-making will be vital in a big game like this.

Centre - 4 Toby King
Man of the moment, King has eleven tries this season and is in the form of his life, and loves a semi-final try.

Centre - 18 Jake Mamo
Mamo loves a try against Castleford and you wouldn’t bet against him bagging one here.

Winger - 5 Josh Charnley
The last few games have seen improvements in Charnley’s game - he just needs the tries to show for it.

Stand-Off - 6 Blake Austin
Austin has played well in the last two games and has started to take the line on again. When he does that, he’s dangerous.

Scrum-Half - 7 Gareth Widdop
The best player in Super League this year, Widdop will be desperate to get to Wembley after falling at this stage last year.

Prop - 8 Chris Hill
In very good form this season. As always against Castleford, the forwards will be key.

Hooker - 9 Daryl Clark
Clark didn’t play a minute of the win over Salford, which hopefully will have done him the world of good heading into this one.

Prop - 10 Mike Cooper
Back this week after missing the Salford game, Hill and Cooper’s contributions will be key.

Second Row - 11 Ben Currie
Another who is in really good form. Very dangerous runner and he’s choosing the right lines.

Second Row - 12 Jack Hughes
The captain is looking to lead his team out at Wembley for the first time with a big win on Saturday.

Loose Forward - 15 Matt Davis
Has really started to make the 13 role his own and I don’t see any reason to move him for the time being.

Interchange - 13 Joe Philbin
Miles better, and more useful, from the bench.

Interchange - 19 Robbie Mulhern
Been a revelation from the bench so far this year.

Interchange - 20 Sitaleki Akauola
Has done okay recently. Can he provide a big stint?

Interchange - 16 Danny Walker
Did really well against Salford and may be needed from the bench.

A big performance is needed, a better one than we put in against Castleford earlier in the season, and a better one than in our last semi-final. Come on Wire!
